Our original support group - the one that started it all - is still alive and thriving right here in the river valley of Western Arkansas. He have been meeting on Wednesday nights since 1996, helping stepfamilies from this region learn the secrets to successful stepparenting.

You are invited to come see how much there is to gain from joining together with other stepparents (and step-grandparents and step-family members, etc) to discover the best ways to:

• avoid conflicts,
• develop family guidelines,
• prevent stepchild rebellion,
• survive ex-spouse interference,
• grow together as a strong, supportive couple

Sometimes we teach on important family topics, sometimes we focus on a couple's particular issues (but only if they voluntarily ask for help), and sometimes we just enjoy each others' company as we help each other grow.

We do other things together, too, like

• meeting at coffee shops,
• holding weekend getaways,
• hosting expert speakers, and
• partying around the holidays.

In other words, we often form close relationships that not only help us through tough times in our families, but also help us enjoy our families more.

Come check us out. You're welcome to talk about your family or just sit and listen to others, Either way, you're sure to learn something to help your relationships.

We meet every Wednesday night at 6:30 at East Side Baptist Church in Fort Smith. The map below shows where to find us, a couple of blocks behind the WalMart Super Center. Licensed child care is available, so please don't bring your kids to class (you don't want them to learn the secrets, do you?!).

2. At the Massard Road - Rogers Ave. intersection (just before the WalMart Super Center) Turn LEFT on Massard Road so you go past Wal Mart.

3. At the next traffic light (Dallas Road), East Side Baptist Church is on the LEFT side. The classes are held at East Side Baptist Church.
